About

I started this blog after I came home from having a double lung and heart transplant at UCSF Medical Center to keep friends and family updated on my progress.
I was diagnosed with Idiopathic/Primary Pulmonary Hypertension, a rare heart/lung disease, in late August of 2008 and transplanted on September 16, 2008. You can read about my journey from the beginning. In June of 2009 I had a re-transplant of my left lung and a couple of surgeries due to complications. I am now at home recovering and living life as a transplant recipient.
I also am a knitter. When I was wee my grandmother taught me how to knit. I made the usual kid stuff – pot holders, coasters etc. I didn’t work with yarn again until I was an adult. In 2005 I picked it back up, and I’ve been knitting away ever since. I must admit that I’m addicted to yarn. I love the colors and textures. I particularly love how string becomes a piece of clothing within a matter of hours.
